BCM Connect and Ho`lolaule`a

Some pictures:

The drums I played last Thursday evening in Connect session.

The 5 String Fender Jazz Bass.

The Taylor Celup guitar xD.

The Taylor Electric Guitar.

The Boss guitar pedal.

The song list and sequence for each song that the musicians rely so much during Praise and Worship. I need signals, dammit! xD.

The arrangement during BCM Connect last Thursday.

the overrated Ho`lolaule`a.

Budweiser xD.

The crowd at First Stage in Ho`lolaule`a.

A band playing on the First Stage that evening. The fat guy was shredding on his uber small ukelele.

The store where I finally got my first taste of real and authentic Hawaiian food, which is not bad.

Second stage, dubbed the "livelier" stage.

Sorry for the bad pictures. Usually people we say that it's not the equipment that causes these bad pictures, but the person BEHIND the equipment. Well, I back to differ, since my camera sucks shit =). Gonna save up for a better one. Woot... Woot!!

Just found out that my next Mid Terms are starting like, NEXT FRIDAY! 0.0 *cries*

National Service

HERE

“This is because we all know that for every one person who gets called to attend NS training, there are another 100 people who want to go but don’t get the chance.”

HAHAHAH!! Ask any "chosen" ones who do not want to go, and there will be spaces for those 100 people, or maybe more. Dumb statement. Dumb statement xD

HERE

“It is just a few days before Hari Raya and I have to spend it in hospital,” said the Year Five pupil of SK Alor Merah here.

Not to be mean or anything but, serves you right? >.< Safety first, sheeesh...

Woot!

Glory to God! I got my Marine Biology Cellular Processors(sp?) exam paper. I scored a 100.5 out of 103. Woot!

Okay, the full marks of the paper is actually 100 marks. But there are three extra credits question (if you get one right, you get one mark)... So yeah, I counted it as over 103 because I'M SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING 103! Curse my dam habit for not following the instructions >.< I used to answer all the questions in an exam paper, just in case one gets wrong or one has low marks, I can back it up with the extra question. Guess what? My lecturer penalized me 2.5 marks for answering one question extra when she said choose four questions only in the instructions. *smacks head*

Well, least I know for my own evaluation I got full marks for that paper. So now, I just need to keep studying everyday, and maintain my grades. Woot! Thank God, all glory goes to Him....

Will be going out tonight for some awesome event! Concerts and food... Woot! But no mosh pit though. Shucks... Haha! Will be taking pictures. LOADS of pictures.

I'm a tourist after all :).

Toilet Notes Feud!

I'm having a dilemma now on whether to stay in this current residence hall or to switch it to a better residence hall. Why is it a dilemma even though the room looks much more better than the one I'm in? Well, it's cheaper to live in Hale Kauanoe (the residence hall I'm in now) than in Hale Kehau (the residence hall I'm planning to switch to) and I don't have to clean my own toilet (and I don't have to waste money on toilet paper!). But two weekends ago, I woke up early for the ISA General Meeting event, went to the toilet to brush my teeth; guess what I saw (and smelled)? Pizza-barf-smell from a toilet booth. Shhhiiiaaatt... It was so disgusting... And the person who did it (still unknown), didn't clean it up... What the heck... And few days ago, someone "mistargetted" his/her (girls come into this hall too) poop and there was shit on the toilet seat and on the floor. What the heck, and he/she didn't clean in it up! Crapppp.... I think I'll rather move to Hale Kehau even though it WILL be more expensive than Hale Kauanoe... I don't mind switching my meal plans to like 5 Meals a Week and I'm working on a scholarship. Since I can't get full scholarship, I'll use whatever amount I have for housing and meal plan.

Why Toilet Notes Feud? Check these out:

Those notes were posted on the "unfortunate" toilet booth door. The two darker notes were written by the person (or people) who cleaned up the mess (two messes, so two notes) and the lighter one was a reply from the "culprit" who had a bad target in pooping...

Interesting? Somehow it is interesting, but Hale Kehau, here I come!!!

Results!

All those hardcore studying and midnight oil burning payed off! Woot! Glory to HIS NAME! I just got back my Calculus, Marine Science Diversity and Chemistry Lecture results; I saw it, and they were good. Haha! I scored an 87/100 for Calculus, 95.5/100 for Marince Science Diversity and 216.6/217 (forgot the maximum points but I know I was short by 0.4 points) for Chemistry Lecture. Woot! Glory to GOD! One more class for today, then I'm done! Can't wait to get Marine Science Cellular Processors marks tomorrow! Woot!

Teach Good Living Values?!?!?!?!!?!?

HERE

WHAT?! You're urging the school and higher education institutes to do that, NOW? Then what the heck is the Moral Education doing in the primary and secondary school syllabus? >.< Heck, the government even brought back that Civics Education thing. What's the use of URGING when there's already the subjects and the activities to plant "noble" attitude in people? Wait, you mean our Moral Education system is not good enough??

To me, it's alright. Good texts to read from, questions and answers are good as well. What you should do is to IMPROVE the dam subjects (don't know how) and start disciplining students! People in Malaysia are taking things easy, taking stuff for granted. That's why we can't develop as quick as Japan! Stop thinking always about getting foreign investors to invest in our country, think also about the Malaysians who are migrating OUT from the country. Research's the key. Questions like WHY do they migrate OUT from Malaysia should be researched for the answer. Try to work on that.

Sheesh.

ISA

HERE

“I feel the Government should not just brush these comments aside. Instead, it should do the right thing by considering whether there is still a need for such an Act,” he (Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn)said in a statement yesterday.

Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar had ALREADY considered whether the Act should stay or not and his conclusion is to maintain it, dummy >.<

I think the ISA should NOT be abolished, instead, the Act should be REVAMPED! Try taking away the Act, Malaysia would suffer more.

Anyways, I went swimming today! Woot woot! Woot woot! xD I missed church though. Thanks to the retarded mobile phone service here... I just don't get it, why do you get charged for messages and calls that you receive? That's just so dam retarded. I understand paying to send text messages and to make calls, but why getting charge to RECEIVE?! Retarded. Because of that dumb service, the guy who was supposed to pick me up to go to Glad Tidings never turn up this morning. Thank you, America! >.< I miss Digi and Maxis and Celcom... When I get back to Malaysia, I'm gonna shop, shop and shop! If you say that stuff here is cheap, godai. >.< Hawaii's expensive! Sheesh.. Dam cellphone plans...

Movie night was awesome xD

Work?

Hey people of Malaysia (and every other people who reads my blog >.<)! How have all of you all been? Hope you people are contented with the Nasi Lemak back home in Malaysia and also appreciating the Malaysian education system. YEAP! You read that right. APPRECIATE that flawed system because, IT'S HELPING ME, A LOT! xD. I'm not talking about the syllabus in the system (the syllabus sucks...) but the education system that makes you study your ass off all the time. I had like, 2 Marine Science papers (Diversity and Cellular Processes class), 1 Chemistry paper, 1 Chemistry Discussion quiz, 1 Chemistry Lab quiz, 1 Calculus paper and 1 Marine Science quiz (Diversity). So yeah, really appreciated the Malaysian education system for planting the "kiasu" mentality in me xD. HAHAH! Thank God for allowing me to practice studying hard and constantly (SPM). Woot!

The exams were alright. Both Marine Science exams were fairly easy, Chemistry lecture, lab and discussion exam/quiz, was crap easy! xD I think I screwed up in my Chemistry Lab quiz though =(. Calculus was pain in the butt. I studied and revised so many times before the exam (a week of revision!) and still I wasn't confident when I answered the questions. Dejavu! Felt the same way last year when I did Add Maths in Secondary School. Jiooorrr... I think I did badly in my Marine Science quiz as well. There goes my perfect score. Sheesh!

Played drums for BCM last night. Yippeeee! Stupid old drum set. Made the tom skills sound so bad. Thank God I'll be playing on a better drum set next week xD.

OKAY! My first wave of exams passed already, what should I do now? Movie =P. No... Not the normal movie night with Amber and the gang, but a movie in the theater... Wooot!!!!

Miss Malaysia :( (food xD)

Hmmmm...

HERE and HERE

Came across this video while I was randomly browsing through some "patriotic" blogs. I just don't get it why would people bring religion into politics? And there's nothing wrong for Christians to eat pork. Leviticus and Deuteronomy, most of the laws in those books are particularly for the Jews. But it's still in the Bible you say... Christ came down to earth to die for our sins, to make the impure, pure. So, read the whole context and understand them before posting such irrational things online. To the video poster: I understand that the political problem back home in Malaysia is very stressful and yes, you have a choice on which sides you wanna be on. But research and gets your facts right. Instead of creating and making a point to the fellow viewers, you just created a feud.

And there's a guy on the website above who was trying to defend Christianity, oh crap, you just made it worse *smacks head*. There's no such thing that Christians were called to follow the new testament and the Jews were called to follow the old testament. Without the old testament, there is no new testament, keep that in mind. *smacks head again* And in that website, I found many comments about betraying ancestors and stuff. Hello? You gotta to be kidding me right? Everybody has a choice on whether which religion they wanna follow, it doesn't have to be Chinese should be Buddhist, Indian should be Hindu so on and so forth.... If that's the case, then why are Chinese Buddhist when China was under Hindu for so many centuries? Hmmmmm....

Nobody's perfect, but we should choose our words and construct our sentences properly to avoid any tension. Guess what Mr. Video Poster? You failed to win over the hearts of people through the internet, give up =).

Will edit this post once I get some questions answered by Emmanuel....

Why MUST Zaid Resign?

HERE

Why should Zaid resign? Is giving one's opinion against the laws and norms of Malaysia considered wrong in the eyes of the politician? Ignorance is NOT bliss. Wake up. Sheesh.

Study Jon! Study! My first Marine Science paper was alright. I think I did fairly well, just hope I'm in the A range xD. A range by the way is from 90 to 100. Yes, open your mouth in shock ladies and gentlemen. No test tomorrow but I'm studying for another Marine Science paper this Thursday. Glory to God.

Oh yeah, Add Maths and Moral on the same day? HERE. Godai wei! Who the heck would want to do that? Shiiittt.. The SPM timetable would kill the students.

Malaysia is Dying

Thanks to ISA? All talk about having a 'First World Mentality" are all bull crap?

The picture above shows an opposition supporter burning a Jalur Gemilang.

But who is REALLY burning the Jalur Gemilang? The Malaysian government is being condemned by almost every citizen of Malaysia. Stop killing my country. Enough IS enough. Immature and sore loser ministers. Stop it.

Drums xD

Woot! I played drums in church this morning! Nyek Nyek Nyek. Glory to God! We played One Way, Hosanna, Agnus Dei (dei, macha!) and a song that I can't remember the name. Everything was acoustic today but people said it sounded good. Can't wait to play for BCM's (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) Connect service this Thursday evening. The drum set sucks but, it still works. So, not gonna complain much. Wooot! Glory to God!

I'm done with revision but I'm still gonna review (not revise, as what my roommate, Matt says xD) my Marine Science notes all over again. I just did that few minutes ago xD. But gonna do it again.

Glory to God.

International Student Association General Meeting

Ooooooohhhhhh... xD. Came back an hour ago from Radio Bay for the ISA General Meeting, Fall 2008. The original location was supposed to be at Hilo Bay but there was a canoeing competition, wait, TWO canoeing competitions just now in the morning. As our main activity for this morning, kayaking, we couldn't kayak at Hilo Bay so we had to move to Coconut Island which was not far away from Hilo Bay but there were something there as well, some Women Wellness day thing. then we finally moved to Radio Bay (I think I got the name right xD) where we had our kayaking, gathering, breakfast, and lunch. We wanted to have beach games but the place wasn't suitable, rocks and stones everywhere. We didn't want to get anybody hurt xD. And the participants kinda prefer like, just taking it easy, getting to know each other and stuff. So I think everything went smoothly. I had fun meeting new faces and just speaking to them.

I'm feeling real tired now... Argh! Need to study!

Gotta go now. I have Praise and Worship practice later. Wooot! xD

History Book? 0.o

I've not been following the Malaysian news for a very long time, not that I have been following the news even when I was back home. But, the headlines on The Star Online is just so cool. You don't have to pay for Astro for some wicked shit of drama. Just get a newspaper. I read this just now, and I came across this "cool" sentence:
“If Anwar criticises or argues too much on Government policies, we can always go back and check the history book,” he said.
Let me ask you, what history book are you talking about? The history book where the "facts" change almost all the time? Good for you =). HAR HAR! Dumb people >.< I wanted to learn about Hang Tuah so much but it wasn't on the history books. Screw that shit. Sheesh!

School has been good so far. Next week is my first taste of college exams. But I feel that it's easier and more interesting to study for the subjects I'm taking this semester than to study for SPM. xD I love studying for Marine Science (both my Cellular Process and Diversity class). I think one of the factors is that my lecturer, Jessica Turner, is such an awesome teacher. She makes it so interesting. And the best part is, I have to study her notes only, not from a book! Woot! :P

Gonna go study. I'm so behind Psychology. The lecturer is so darn boring and so disorganized. He's teaching us like everybody in the class has already taken psychology in high school. What the heck, I never read, or thought of reading about psychology in my life.... HAHAHAH! Well, whatever happens, I just hope I can do well in that subject.

I Won't Let This Build Up Inside of Me...

I never once fail to pull your picture out from the dusty folders in my brain when I listen to that particular part in the song, Vermilion by Slipknot. I'm sure whether it's the words or the music build up in that song. No matter how loud, or how heavy the tune can be, the words I won't let this build up inside of me just makes me wanna touch your face smoothly and gently. Contrast I know but these words from this song somehow calms me by thinking about you. Carve my name in my face, to recognize I always get that part wrong, not by mis-singing a word, but purposely singing it the way I like... Carve YOUR name in my face I just feel like doing that. I'm far from you, not geographically only, but far and broken in the sense of relationship. No matter what I do to forget you, my mind dilates into a pensive, reminiscing about your pure and honest behaviour. All I want, is to be with you, for one more time; that's what I told myself before I flew here. I even wanted to give you something that you misplaced. But whatever I give you, will never ever replace whatever you have, or misplaced. I took a little bit of you along with me. I see it everyday, I touch and feel it everyday, and heck, I even rub it on my face gently wishing that it was you who is doing that. I kiss it once in awhile. I somehow still have this weird feelings for you. I don't know, I just love the past, because you were in it. But at the same time, I hate it, because I want you to be in the present, instead of the past. Shoot me, kill me, carve your name on my face.

She isn't real? She IS real. Very dear to my heart, very very dear to my heart.

Church!

I finally visited a church today! It's a baptist church (southern baptist). I would share with you guys the name of the church BUT, I forgot xD. My bad! haha! The service I went for is kinda like a College service. It's basically the youth service. It's kinda alright. Wasn't expecting much. I might be playing drums for them next Sunday. Not sure yet. I wanna go visit Glad Tidings though. Yet to speak to my leader about that. Hmmm, I will, I have the whole semester, four years actually xD HAHAHA!

After church I went over to one of the church member's house for lunch. The house looks good and there's like nice land around it. Very simple yet pretty =). Then after lunch, we played "badminton". haha! It cannot be called a badminton game because it was like, 3VS3, volleyball rules. Hahaha! So yeah, it was weird... Had fun though.

I hate doing my Calculus Lab homework. The software is soooo difficult to use. Dam MathCad! It's a very helpful software but it's just so confusing....

I would have taken some pictures of the church and the house but I felt awkward. Sorry guys! And oh yeah, I left my cellphone in Rachel's (one of the church/BCM member) car. Thank God she'll be playing volleyball later near my dorms. Woot. Haha!

Saturday, September 6, 2008

tennis!

Blardy hell. So much homework to do! Stupid Calculus Lab! It's so darn difficult to use the software Mathcad to do my homework. Why can't they just stick to using papers and pencils? Bitch...

I played tennis just now in the morning. Wow, I'm actually not badddd... Haha! But all I need to do now is not to improve my strokes, but to actually hit the ball using my strokes >.< Yes, whenever I swing the racket I miss the ball by like few millimeters. Grrr. My serving is not that bad. gonna continue playing tennis soon xD.

Sorry Jo!

Bummer for Jo... I gots a news roommie! Woot! His name is Matthew Surerus and he's from Washington DCstate. He just arrived like, few minutes ago (at night baby, at night!) and he seems kinda like a nice guy. He's 24, big brother xD.

Too bad Jo. Sorry I can't help you here... Just hang on there for this semester, then next semester we'll be moving into Hale Kehau! woot!

Drew Moved Out

My (former) roommate, AnDrew, moved out to a better residence hall yesterday. So yeah, I have the WHOLE room to myself! Woohoo! But dam, he took his fridge along! Dammit! There's no tension between the two of us. It seems that he registered for that residence hall (Hale Kehau) but they didn't have room for him, so the people in charge gave him a room in Hale Kauanoe (the residence hall where I'm at, I can't pronounce it either xD). And yeah, he moved out.

BUT NO WORRIES, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I'm gonna get a new roommate, hopefully my Korean friend, Jo, can move in with me. Woot! His roommate is irritating and annoying him. So he applied for a room change. Hopefully he can get to move in with me. That'll be so cool! People here call both of us Harold and Kumar.... Jo's Harold, and I'm Kumar... It's a movie. Don't watch it; contains racist jokes, improper language, and explicit content. But it's AWESOME! HAHAHA!

For now, the whole room is mine, and mine alone. My microwave, which is on the fridge, is now on Drew's former desk. And my bag/luggage for my bed sheets and towels, are on Drew's former bed. Yippppeeeee!

People here keep asking me what's my favourite food. I answer, FAT RICE... Blardy hell, make me hungry only. Celaka! xD

Setting up camp.

I'm not sure who's this playing Ukelele. Frigging expensive instrument here. U$D300++ for an original ukelele or however you spell that.

The fire. The boring campfire xD.

The dead fish and some lobsters caught by some spear "snorkellers" at night. Awesome stuff. These people are EXTREME!

The tent I slept in for the night.
